AlvaBaby Cloth Diaper Review AND GIVEAWAY!

AlvaBaby is another one of the cheap, “Ebay” diapers. Another one of those ‘too good to be true’ type scenarios. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by how well they’ve worked for me. I’ve had a couple in regular rotation for around six to eight weeks and haven’t had a single leak.



Fit: The AlvaBaby diapers are large! Zaida is approximately 15 lbs and 27” and I have the diaper on almost the very smallest setting. I definitely do not see these diapers fitting very small babies. However, once it’s all snapped up, it fits pretty well with no huge gaps around the legs or waist. The waist has a cross over tab, which I do use. The good side is, that these diapers should fit a baby truly until potty training! Also, they have three columns of rise snaps, which I like. I find, because Zaida is so skinny, that only two columns leaves her with a funny looking pouch in the front of her diaper, lol.



Material: On first inspection, I wasn’t surprised to see they felt a little cheap. They have a suedecloth interior, which was a first for me, but it doesn’t pill so that’s actually a good thing. Over all the washings I have never noticed any damage to the material, so despite its initial cheap feel, it’s held up well so far. Stains come out of these diapers better than they do on diapers with fleece inners.



Pocket and Insert: The pocket has elastic on the inner edge. It is a very roomy pocket. The insert is a microfiber insert, almost identical to the SunBaby insert, but slightly softer and larger. Not as soft as a FuzziBuns, however!

Price: Cheap! Around $5 - $6 per diaper with free shipping. They also now have bamboo diapers that are $10 each. I haven’t tried the bamboo yet, but it’s on my list.

Overall: I would recommend AlvaBaby to anybody on a budget. I haven’t experienced any issues with them and they have a HUGE selection of cute prints. Plus, you can never beat free shipping. I believe my first order took around two and a half weeks but my second order only took about ten days!
